Fedora Guide

To use Linux you first will need to get comfortable with the command line. Sure it is possible to squeak by using the gui but you are limiting yourself immensely. It also becomes nearly impossible to fix any problems you may encounter. Unlike Microsoft Windows where What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) Linux is command line based and the gui is another program run on top. A lot of software in the open source world is considered beta software. This means, for instance, an update to xorg11 (the X-window gui system) can, and often does, break the code for the graphics driver, especially those of us who run the proprietary drivers from ATI & Nvidia.

FedoraFAQ is a wealth of information for the new Fedora user.

Gnome Library User's Guide is another great read for information. There is useful information like keyboard shortcuts for more advanced users.

This site has two pages of command line guides on it. I suggest you bookmark it and study up on bash.
