I bought Misterlappy in 2010 to replace a couple of beater cheap laptops I had bought broken and repaired. As As I got more into using computers for everyday tasks including photo editing, personal time management, and syncing to my cell phone, I found my older laptops becoming too slow to get my work done in an efficient manner. With the i5 and upgraded 8GB of RAM, this laptop should last me for years to come. The Intel SSD made the laptop very responsive and quick to boot. My desktop was giving me great pains with instability so I replaced it full time with using my laptops.

I do my web editing, photo editing, etc on it. I still play games occasionally, and I even have Steam working in WINE. The 8GB of RAM is for running Virtual Box .

I use Windows 7 and the built in Media Center to watch DVDs and TV. Unfortunately I have to use Cyberlink PowerDVD to watch Blurays and it doesn't always play nice. The powerful video card lets me play games on the TV.

My setup is a little unique. I have the computer in the basement and I use a long DVI to HDMI to connect to my TV in the living room. I also made my own long USB cable that attaches to a USB hub in the living room. There is a wireless keyboard & mouse that lives on or around the couch I use to interface with the computer. Until you have done it, you can have no idea how awesome it is to have a computer connected to you television.
